Nemkov vs. Johnson title fight headlines Bellator 266

A Pair of Light-heavyweight Grand Prix Semifinals are set for Bellator 266 in October.

The main event will see Vadim Nemkov defending the Bellator light-heavyweight title against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, a former UFC title challenger. A second-round knockout of Ryan Bader last August saw Nemkov win the championship. The 29-year-old Russian beat Phil Davis in the quarterfinal, by decision for a second time at Bellator 257, for his first successful defense. Johnson made his promotional debut, ending a four-year retirement, at Bellator 258 knocking out Jose Augusto in the second round.

The other semifinal has current heavyweight, former light-heavyweight champion, Ryan “Darth” Bader against, TUF 19 winner, Corey “Overtime” Anderson. In the quarterfinal Bader evened the score with Lyoto Machida, beating “The Dragon” by decision at Bellator 256. Anderson has been destructive in two fights with Bellator stopping Melving Manhoef with Elbows and mauling Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov on the ground.

Bellator 266 is set for October 16th at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
