Bantamweight Title Fight Headlines Bellator 272
The title reign for Sergio Pettis will begin with a champ versus champ matchup.
Pettis first defense will come against current Rizin Bantamweight champion Kyoki Horiguchi on December 3rd.
Milwaukee’s Pettis won his fourth in a row, third under the Bellator banner, back in May. The main event of Bellator 258 saw Pettis out strike Juan Archuleta to become the Bellator Bantamweight champion. Before signing with Bellator “The Phenom” was in the UFC where he picked notale up wins over Brandon Moreno & Joseph Benavidez.
Japan’s Horiguchi beat Darrion Caldwell twice by June of 2019 to not only be the Rizing Bantamweight champion but also had the Bellator title. Two months later Horiguchi was surprisingly lost the Rizin knocked out by Kai Asakura and suffered a knee injury. Horguchi returned the favor and reclaimed the belt this past December in his return to action.
