Dominick Cruz to headline Fight Night in Hometown
The UFC is heading to San Diego for a fight night on August 13.
The main event will see number five Rankin tender Marlon Vera (19-7-1) against former champion number eight ranked Dominick Cruz (24-3).
Over the last two years Marlon Vera has come into his own. The Ecuadorian fighter has won four of his last five fights and he’s on a three fight win streak. None more impressive that his front kick knockout a former champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 268.
Cruz is a San Diego resident got back on track in 2021 picking up decision wins over perennial contenders Casey Kenney and Pedro Munoz. “The Dominator” is one of the greatest bantamweights in UFC history going unbeaten for an eight year over a span. In all it was 13-fight win streak that included winning eight championship fights in a row.
