Bellator vs Rizin 2, Final Grand Prix Quarterfinal & Inaugural Flyweight Title Match
After going head to head in December, Bellator & Rizin have up the anti for their second promotional battle this summer.
The main event winner in the first Bellator vs Rizin show, AJ McKee will be in the main event spotlight facing former champion Patricky Ferire reigniting the family rivalry. Patricky’s broth Patricio & AJ are even at one win a peace.
The co-main event will see the crowning of the first ever Bellator Men’s Flyweight champion as former Kyoji Horiguchi squares off with Makoto Shinryu. Horiguchi is a former Bellator Bantamweight champion, a Rizin Bantamweight champion, and Rizin Tournament champion. Shinryu is on an impressive 10-fight win streak that includes winning the CFFC flyweight title.
Ranked women’s Flyweights will also battle as Japans Kana Watanabe faces Idaho’s Veta Arteaga.
Bellator vs. Rizin 2 is scheduled for July 30 at the Saitama Super arena in Saitama Japan.
This three fights will be part of Bellator vs. Rizin 2. The rest of the card is Super Rizin 2.
The other main event will see Kai Asakura & Juan Archuleta battling for the vacant Rizin Bantamweight Championship. Asakura has won 6 of his last 8 fights coming off knocking out Yuki Motoya. Archuleta is on a three fight win streak that includes two wins over Rizin competitors. The other announced fight will see Mikuru Asakura battling Vugar Karamov.
