Two title fights top the UFC’s return to Boston
A championship double header has been announced for the UFC’s August pay per view event.
The main event will see reigning Bantamweight world champion Aljamain “Funk Master” Sterling defending against number two ranked “Suga” Sean O’Malley. Sterling is a grappling wizard who has three successful title defenses to his credit, all against former champions. O’Malley is known for his striking. “Suga” has won four of his last five fights including a decision win over former champion Petr Yan.
The co-main event will see Brazil’s Amanda Lemos challenging China’s Zhang Weili for the UFC women’s Strawweight World Championship. Lemos has won seven out of eight fight in her UFC career. In our last two fights the 35 year old has submitted Michele waterson and knocked out Marina Rodriguez. Zhang won the championship for a second time at UFC 281 dethroning Carla Esparza.
The final announced fight, for the card will see former Champion Cody Garbrandt against the streaking Mario Bautista.
UFC 292 will be August 19th at the TD Garden in Boston Massachusetts
