BKFC 47 Results, Mundell delivers Star Making Performance

The Jenkins Arena in Lakeland Florida hosts BKFC 47 a ten-fight card featuring a championship double header.

In the main event former interim Light-Heavyweight champion Mike “The Marine” Richman drops down to Middleweight to challenges David Mundell for the BKFC title. In the the co-main event Josh Dyer & Jared Warren battle for a second time and this time an interim BKFC Light-Heavyweight title is on the line.

Michael Larrimore wasted no time getting the night off to a hot start starching Daniel Gary with a left hook for a 20 second knockout win. The final prelim saw Ja’Far Fortt pick himself up off the floor in the first round to nail Tim Hester with a left hand he couldn’t recover from in the final moments of the third round.  Tony Murphy scored a TKO win over Michael Jones. It was uppercuts in the clinch and left hook that that put Murphy into the winners circle. Gabriell Roman came right out attacking Martyna Krol catching Krol with hard straight shots. A left hand from Roman to Krol’s eye at the bell was a punch she couldn’t recover from before the ten count. Ryan Reber & Travis Thompson engaged in a battle so close the judges needed a 6th round after scoring the first five a majority draw. The final two minutes just as competitive ads the first ten. The judges giving a split decision to Ryan Reber. Brandon Allen looks ready for the next level on competition as he won his third in a row. Allen got off the ground to score two knockdowns. The first a left hook that spun around a laid Shaffer down. A straight right hand on Seth Shaffer’s left eye straight had him seeking refuge. The co-main event did not see an interim champion crowd as it ended in anticlimactic fashion of a no contest.  Dyer bull his way into the clinch landing big shots for an early knockdown. As the second came to an end Dyer had Warren on the ropes throwing a flurry of hooks. Warren again touches the mat and the ref rules the knock down came from an illegal punch to the back of the head after the bell. Warren was unable to continue leading to the no contest. 

The main event delivered in a way that made you feel like the holiday was still going on.  The heavy artillery of Mike Richman was on display early as a straight left put Mundell on the ground. Mundell got up and returned the favor with his own left hook. The champion picked up the aggression scoring a second knockdown in the round with  bombs in the clinch. The onslaught continued as right hands to the body step up a right hand over the Richman guard for a third trip to the canvas. A crisp right hook on the chin after a wave of shots in the clinch saw Richman touch the mat for a fourth and final time. After his successful defense Mundell made it clear his choice is to fight Mike Perry next.
