The night started out with an impressive performance from Kasim Ruffin defeating short notice opponent Daniel Gary by 3rd round TKO. Ruffin knocked Gary down five times in all, including on three occasions in the 3rd round. It was a pair of uppercuts, one from either side finally ending the bout. Rick Caruso put his foot on the gas as soon as the bell sounded, bringing the pressure right to Landon Williams. Caruso took every opportunity to throw his overhand right. A vicious barrage of punches capped by a short-left hand would see Willams kneeled down for the ten count. Kaine Tolinson was the aggressor dominating the early exchanges and drawing blood from Brett Fields nose. Fields even spit out his mouth peace three times, but he stole the fight with one hybrid jab left hook that crushed Tomlinson across the bridge of his nose to end the fight. The heart of Brian Maxwell was put to the test picking himself up off the mat six times inside the first four rounds. Maxwell cut Harris Stephenson under his left eye and all around the right. As the comeback would be mounting an overzealous Maxwell smashed Stephenson across the face while he was down forcing a disqualification ending. After showing head movement and pressure in the first round, Ronnie Glass found himself on the end of Joseph Greer’s punches touching the mat three times. A body shot in the third round rendered Glass unable to continue. An aggressive Mark Culp ran into two counter combinations from Bruce Abramski getting knocked down by both and unable to continue after the second in only 43 seconds. The aggressive power punching of Stanislav Grosu racked up four knockdowns of Blake LaCaze scoring the TKO win in the final seconds of the second round. In the co-main event Dustin Pauge made full use of his speed advantage being first to the punch and getting out of the way of Joe Elmore’s overhand counters. The shorter sharper shots would bust Elmore open around his left eye as Pauge would sweep the cards. The champion keeps improving. In the main event it was a clean performance from Britain Hart in retaining the title. For five rounds Melanie Shah would march down Hart, who would take angle catching the challenger with damaging precision shots. Shah with cuts around her left eye and heavy bleeding would showed determination making it to the final bell. Hart racks up a crucial title defense as she now quickly shifts gears to preparing for Po Denman at BKFC Thailand 5 on November 4th. If Denman didn’t already know, she has to now be aware that Hart be as effective with both her offense and defense.
