LFA 170 Results, Frunza Scores a Last Second Knockout Win
Legacy Fighting Alliance is at the Dobson Arena in Vail Colorado for LFA 170. A 12-fight card is headlined by a Welterweight showdown between top prospects. Talundzoc has fought six of his seven professional bouts in the LFA winning five and securing three rear naked chokes. Frunza comes in on a three-fight win streak after winning his promotional debut by first round knockout.
Thirty seconds away from the scorecards Daniel Frunza seized opportunity knocking out Haris Talundzoc. Frunza pushed forward with his strikes for the first round. Talundzoc turned to his wresting spending time on top and negating Frunza’s striking with control on the fence. Draining the third round clock against the fence the ref reset the fight in the center giving Frunza the space to catch Talundzoc coming in with a massive right elbow. Hammer-fists on the ground finish the job with one second on the clock. Myktybek Orolbai continues rise up the prospects to watch list now having won his sixth in a row and third in the LFA. Orolbai spent the first round on top of Hayward Charles softening up the Colorado fighter. Orolbai took advantage of Charles dramatically dipping his head by putting a right uppercut on the chin for the knockout early in the second round. Isaac Thomson put together a complete performance keeping AJ Robb on the outside for the early stages of the fight while racking up 6 minutes of control time over the final ten minutes to win a unanimous decision. Caio Machado weathered the storm of being dominated underneath Ilyor Bakhtiyar Uulu, finding a reversal taking the back completing an insane comeback by third round rear naked choke. Shannon Clark barreled forward making it a nasty fight with Nejra Repp roughing up Repp in the clinch for three rounds to win a unanimous decision. Jordan Burkholder got back in the win column wearing down Daniel Gonzales with several takedowns draining Gonzales gas tank before securing the rear naked choke in the second.
