Palomino gets the Big fight he’s been looking for at BKFC 57
The first announced numbered BKFC event of 2024 will see Luis “Baboon” Palomino defending against a former Boxing world champion he was rumored to meet in 2023.
During BKFC 56 it was announced that Austin “NO Doubt” Trout will battle BKFC Lightweight Champion, Luis “Baboon” Palomino in a Welterweight super fight February 2nd at BKFC 57 in Hollywood Florida at the Hard Rock Hotel.
Palomino is the number one ranked Bare-Knuckle fighter in the world and is on a 9-fight win streak. At BKFC 45 in June Palomino retained his title defeating James Lilley by decision in a fight criticized for a lack of action.
After defeating Diego Sanchez by fourth round TKO in his promotional debut at Knucklemania 3, it looked like a collision with Palomino was next for the former WBC & IBF Super Welterweight champion. At BKFC 41 rumors of an impending agreement circulated, but the fight didn’t materialize. Trout returned to the Boxing ring in October defeating Omir Rodriguez by decision in Germany.
The announcement comes at a perfect time for Palomino who’s so hurry for a big fight that he was asking Eddie Alvarez & Mike Perry if they would fight him after each other during the fight week press conference for BKFC 56.
