6 Big Fights Announced for UFC Return to Abu Dahbi
The UFC will be back in Abu Dhabi at the beginning of August. The main event is a top five Bantamweight showdown.
The cards marquee fight will see number two ranked Cory Sandhagen squaring off against unbeaten number ten ranked Umar Nurmagomedov. Sandhagen is on a roll having won three in a row against ranked opposition. The cousin of the great Lightweight & teammate of the current Lightweight champion, Umar Nurmagomedov is 5-0 with thee finishes in the UFC including knocking out Raoni Barcelos.
Number 14 ranked Welterweight Vicente Luque will face an almost cult like personality, former Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz. Luque is a power puncher with a nasty D’Arce choke. Diaz a volume puncher who at his prime weaponize his pace and cardio to drown his foe. Diaz will be returning from a three-year layoff that proceeded a six-year hiatus.
Number four ranked Bantamweight contender, former tile challenger Marlon “Chito” Vera will face former Flyweight champion, number six ranked Deiveson Figueiredo. In Women’s Strawweight action number seven ranked, Jiu Jitsu expert Mackenzie Dern faces number ten ranked Loppy Godinez. Fan favorites battle at Welterweight as Tony Ferguson meets Michael Chiesa. And number thirteen ranked Alonzo Menifield clashes with number fourteen Azamat Murzakanov.
