Some performances can leave an audience longing for more. The crowd inside the Enterprise Center in St. Louis got all they could handle and a little more from Derrick Lewis.

Against the odds Lewis triumphantly scored a third-round knockout of Rodrigo Nascimento in the main event of the UFC Fight Night card. The prevailing thought from many accessing the fight was that the pendulum would be in Nascimento’s favor should the fight get past the second round.

A trip from Lewis took the fight to the ground, a position Nascimento would reverse and improve on advancing to mount to take the first round. Lewis had a much better second frame clobbering Nascimento with right hands in the clinch. The Brazilian withstood the powerful shots and drug Lewis to the mat for a strong finish to the round. The first minute of the third-round Lewis connected with an overhand right taking the feet out from under Nascimento the ensuing ground and pound a for gone conclusion.

“The Black Beast” extends his record for most knockouts in UFC history to 15.  The number 12 ranked Heavyweight collecting his second win in his last three fights.

The always entertaining Lewis has dropped his shorts after a fight “because my ball was hot”, he’s also thrown personal protection equipment into the crowd. Well, he did both of those and topped it by mooning the crowd.

And it may be hard to believe but Lewis was the fighter who made the biggest impression on the night. It me it was Jaquin Buckley, the hometown fighter who showed out for his city winning his fourth in a row since becoming a Welterweight. The explosive knockout artist showed off his striking and a new wrinkle completing four takedowns for over five minutes of control time and punishing ground strikes while dominating Nursulton Ruizboev.
