Former champions face off as the UFC’s returns to China
In late November the UFC will return to Macau for the first time in over decade with a former Bantamweight champion against a former Flyweight champion in the main event.
The five-round main event will see number three ranked Petr Yan against number five ranked Deiveson Figueiredo. In March Yan ended a three-fight skid by slowing the rising of Song Yadong with a 15-minute lesson. Figueiredo, the former two-time Flyweight champion is 3-0 since moving up to Bantamweight submitting former champion Cody Garbrandt & beating title challenger Marlon Vera.
The last time the UFC was in China Zhang Welil stopped Jessica Andrade taking claim of the UFC Women’s Strawweight title. That was in Shenzhen in 2019.
Former Women’s Strawweight title challenger Xiaonan Yan the number two ranked contender will face number nine ranked BJJ expert Tabatha “Baby Shark” Ricci.
Also former Light-Heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir the number six ranked contender will take on number ten ranked Carlos “Black Jay” Ulberg, who’s on a six-fight win streak.
