Two Title Fights on Tap for UFC 315 in Montreal

The UFC Welterweight & Women’s Flyweight title will be on the line in Canada.

The UFC is returning to the Great White North for UFC 315 on May 10th at the Bell Centre in Montreal Quebec Canada.

In the main event Belal “Remember the Name” Muhammad defends the UFC Welterweight title against Jack Della Maddalena. Muhammad will make his first defense since taking the title from Leon Edwards at UFC 304. The champion in his last 10 fights a streak that spans eight years.

Maddalena is the number four ranked contender in the division and wasn’t the first to be offered this fight. Shavkat Rakhomov has been scheduled to face Muhammad at UFC 310 before the champion was forced to withdraw from a bone infection in his foot. Rakhomov stayed on the card and handed Ian Garry the first loss of his career. On X Rakhomov said “Thanks to the UFC for offering me the shot at the belt first. Unfortunately, due to injury, I won’t be ready for May. I’ll be facing the winner later this year! Followed by a fist emoji”.

Australia’s “JDM” has ran on seven consecutive wins to start his UFC tenure. The Aussie’s first for foe didn’t make it out of the first round including three wins by knockout. We last saw “JDM” at UFC 299 defeating former title challenger Gilber Burns by third round TKO.

Della Maddalena had been scheduled to face Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC London on March 22nd. The former champion will still headline in his home country. His new opponent will be Philadelphia’s Sean Brady, the number five ranked Welterweight contender.

The women’s Flyweight title is on the line in the co-main event of UFC 315 as Valentina Shevchenko defends against number two ranked contender Manon Fiorot. This will be the first defense for Shevchenko since regaining the title from Alex Grasso at UFC 306. During her first reign as champion Shevchenko defended an improbable seven times. France’s Fiorot is 7-0 inside the octagon. Fiorot definitely didn’t take any shortcuts to the title defeating former title challenger Mayra Bueno Silva, Jennifer Maia, & former champion Rose Namajunas.
