Recap- The King’s reign continues. Kai Stewart got right to pressuring Tommy Strydom scoring a knockdown off a fast right hand in the first round. The champion implemented his trademark pace working straight lefts to the body and coming over the top in the clinch with right hands. Even with the ref mistaking a third-round knockdown for a slip everything went the champ’s way. Stewart added a knockdown in the fourth off his left hook and the South African huge touch to the final bell. In his post-fight speech Stewart alluded to wanting a second title having his eyes on the BKFC Lightweight title. His dreams of a second championship may have to wait. BKFC brass including co-owner Conor McGregor looked highly impressed with Nico Gaffie who scored a fourth round TKO of number one contender Brandon Allen. Gaffie knocked down Allen in the 2nd and continued the onslaught with three knockdowns in fourth all from his left hook, one to the body and two upstairs to earn the stoppage.
As BKFC is known to do the night was full of huge knockouts. None bigger than Jesscia Borga punching her way into the history books putting Hannah Rankin out cold off a doubled up right hand to become the first ever BKFC Women’s Featherweight champion. Vladislav Tuinov took out Sabri Ben Henia with the first combination he threw. John Phillips obliterated Fabio Maldonado with a left hook for a second-round knockout. And Mark Angel Sadang crushed Matin Safari with two straight right hands.
