The 13-fight card is headlined by former UFC Featherweight champion Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski battling number 3 ranked Diego Lopes for the open UFC Featherweight crown. Australia’s Volkanovski went unbeaten from 2013 through 2022 and defended his UFC title successfully 5-times. Lopes became a fan favorite during his short notice debut in the octagon where he put on a spirited effort against top contender Movsar Evloev. The Brazilian fighting out of Mexico has run off 5-wins in a row including a legendary win over Dan Ige at UFC 303 on an hour’s notice after Brian Ortega withdrew from the bout on fight day due to illness.
The card is an embarrassment of riches consisting of many bouts between ranked opposition. In the co-main event former Bellator Lightweight champion and number 7 ranked Lightweight Michael Chandler faces number twelve ranked rising Englishman Paddy “The Baddie” Pimblett. Former interim Featherweight champion and number 5 ranked Yair Rodriguez welcomes former Bellator Featherweight & Lightweight champion Patrico “Pitbull” Freire to the octagon.
