Featherweight showdown Headlines UFC Noche
Now that the location has been settled for UFC Noche the UFC announced who will be throwing down in the main event.
UFC president Dana White took to Instagram Tuesday afternoon to announce that Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva will headline this year’s UFC Noche.
UFC Noche is set for September 13th at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Number two ranked Featherweight contender Diego Lopes fell short of his goal of becoming a champion at UFC 314 dropping a unanimous decision to Alexander Volkanovski. The loss ended a five-fight win streak that saw Lopes have a meteoric rise like only few fighters have. Taking on Dan Ige at UFC 303 on hours notice after Brian Ortega withdrew from their scheduled bout gave Lopes a legacy fight fans won’t soon forget. The Brazilian fighting out of Mexico has a go from broke style that has lead to 22 finishes in 26 wins.
“Lord” Jean Silva is the number eleven ranked contender at Featherweight. Much like Lopes, Silva has captivated audiences and taken the division by storm since his debut. “Lord” has a stellar UFC rookie season in 2024 winning all three of his appearances by knockout. The flashy finishes have continued in 2025 as Silva has knockout Melsik Baghdasaryan and submitted Bryce Mitchell.
