
Stage set for RingWars 18
BOXING NIGHT TONIGHT IN EL PASO.
Ring Wars 18 is set for 7:00PM tonight at the El Paso County Coliseum and two New Mexico fighters are ready to battle it out
in the ring.
In the main event in the flyweight division Duke City’s Abraham “Hammer” Perez at 11-0 with 6 of those KO’s will face off with Angel Giovany Morales of Baja California, Mexico. Morales comes in at 9-3-3 and Morales sports 6 wins by KO’s as well. Will one of these fighters move on to get their 7th KO tonight before the final bell? We’ll see! Perez aims to keep his winning streak hot while Morales travling from old Mexico aims to get a win on the road and bump up his resume.
A focused and poised Perez at the weigh in’s held at a packed Soggy Peso beer garden, said of his upcoming match, “I’m ready for it—he knows how to go inside and I’m expecting him to come into the inside alot–we’ll go from there and see what happens.”
A matter of fact Morales from his perspecive said, “He is one more rival, we respect him like all others, he does his job and we do our job–we came to win in—we’ve seen varios fights of his–he moves a lot and uses the olympic style–we practiced going in and out —if it turns into a brawl we’ll brawl.”
In the lightweight division scheduled for 6rounds, Las Cruces’s Andres Rey at 5-0 and 1 KO will take on Gary Hampton of Fort Worth, TX who comes in with a 5-2 record.
A confident Andres Rey said of his opponent, “I am not worrried about him.” When asked about his strategy Rey said, “Whatever happens happens, I do what I always do, if we have to go to war we go to war– if it’s a long distance fight it is what is its.”
A total of eight fights are on the card which are promoted by Kings Promotions.
