Perez vs. Ibarra Headlines Legacy Continues 2 at the Kiva Auditorium
Professional Boxing Returns to the Duke City on December 12 for Legacy Continues 2
Professional boxing returns to Albuquerque on Thursday, December 12, as Legacy Boxing Promotions presents Legacy Continues 2 at the Kiva Auditorium.
In the 10-round main event, Albuquerque’s own Abraham “The Hammer” Perez takes on Guadalajara’s Adrian Ibarra for the NABF flyweight title.
Perez made his long-awaited return this past April at the first Legacy Continues event, scoring a win over Jose Rodriguez. Three months later he stayed active, picking up another victory in El Paso against Angel Meza Morales. With two tune-up fights behind him and the momentum he wanted, Perez is ready to jump back into title contention and continue climbing the ladder.
Ibarra, meanwhile, brings firepower—eight of his ten wins have come by knockout—and enters the bout on a three-fight win streak, albeit against modest competition.
The man who carried New Mexico boxing from the post Holm–Trout era into the new generation, “The Pitbull” Josh Torres, returns from a year-and-a-half layoff to face Salt Lake City’s Christian Aguirre.
After nearly two years away, fan favorite “El Puma” Cristian Cabral is also stepping back into the ring. He meets Gabriel Gutierrez, whose name is familiar to New Mexico fight fans thanks to past bouts against Antonio Martinez, Alan Lerma, and Dewayne Bonds.
Further down the card, a pair of rematches adds extra intrigue. At heavyweight, Leonid Grachev meets Manuel Eastman, whom he defeated by unanimous decision back in 2022. Also running it back are Elija Martinez and Damian Munoz—their first meeting in June in Amarillo went to Martinez by decision.
Plus, former sparring partners collide as Quentin DeLeon returns to the boxing ring—more than two years after a successful pro debut—to face BKFC veteran Austin Lewis.
