BKFC 90 Results: Birmingham Hosts a Night of Rivalries, Debuts and Championship Stakes
BKFC 90 took over the iconic BP Pulse Live arena in Birmingham, England, delivering a card filled with long-awaited rematches, major debuts, and title implications as Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship returned to the United Kingdom.
In the main event, interim welterweight gold was on the line as hometown favorite Connor Tierney faced veteran contender Rico Franco in a rematch more than six years in the making. Tierney entered the bout looking to avenge an earlier defeat while taking another step toward cementing his place among the promotion’s elite. Standing opposite him was Franco, a former world title challenger who arrived in Birmingham carrying momentum after finally settling his lengthy rivalry with Jimmy Sweeney.
The co-main event featured one of the most anticipated promotional debuts in recent memory as former UFC title challenger Darren Till stepped into the BKFC squared circle for the first time. The Liverpool native was matched against reality television star and Bellator veteran Aaron Chalmers, who brought previous bare-knuckle experience into the contest and hoped to spoil Till’s arrival on one of the biggest stages of his combat sports career.
Elsewhere on the card, former UFC and Cage Warriors veteran John Phillips looked to build on his successful BKFC debut. After stopping Fabio Maldonado in the second round earlier this year, Phillips faced a difficult challenge against Ryan Barrett, an 11-fight BKFC veteran known for his toughness and experience inside the squared circle.
