FightWorld MMA 45 Announces First Two Bouts for August 15 Card at Revel Entertainment Center

FightWorld MMA is gearing up for another exciting night of mixed martial arts action as the promotion returns to the Revel Entertainment Center on August 15 for FightWorld MMA 45. The first two bouts announced for the card feature a compelling professional showdown between a decorated striker and a returning veteran, along with an amateur championship clash between two of New Mexico’s brightest featherweight prospects.

The professional matchup will see Richard “Black Skelton” Jennings square off with Joshua “The Destroya” Montoya in a contest that pits rising talent against proven experience.

Jennings, fighting out of Desert Dynasty in Alamogordo, brings an accomplished taekwondo background into the cage. Known for his disciplined approach and technical striking, Jennings has built his game around precision, timing, and movement. Rather than chasing wild exchanges, he prefers to dictate the pace, picking his moments while looking to break opponents down with clean, calculated attacks.

Standing across from him will be one of New Mexico’s most respected veterans.

Joshua Montoya returns to active competition for the first time since retiring in 2018. Before stepping away from fighting, “The Destroya” compiled 22 professional bouts while competing for respected organizations including King of the Cage, XFC, and Bellator. During his career, Montoya earned a reputation for his relentless pressure and willingness to engage, combining technical ability with an aggressive style that made him a difficult matchup for anyone.

Although he stepped away from competition, Montoya never left the sport. He transitioned into coaching and played a pivotal role in the development of Jerome Rivera, helping guide the Santa Fe native throughout his journey to the UFC. After years spent in the corner instead of inside the cage, Montoya now returns looking to prove he can still compete at a high level.

The stylistic matchup should make for an intriguing contest. Jennings’ measured, methodical striking and taekwondo pedigree will be tested against Montoya’s veteran savvy, pressure, and well-rounded mixed martial arts experience. It presents a classic battle between a calculated technician and an aggressive veteran eager to make a successful return.

The second announced bout will see the FightWorld MMA Amateur Featherweight Championship on the line as Dominic Yara takes on undefeated knockout artist Angel Gallegos.

Yara has spent years developing into one of the area’s toughest amateur competitors. A strong grappler with a grinding style, he excels at closing distance, controlling opponents, and turning fights into physically demanding battles. His steady improvement and willingness to face quality opposition have earned him an opportunity to compete for championship gold.

Gallegos, meanwhile, has emerged as one of the fastest-rising prospects on the regional scene. Undefeated through his amateur career, he has quickly made a name for himself with explosive finishing ability, recording three stoppage victories in just the last ten months. His power and confidence have made him one of the division’s most exciting young fighters, and he now has the chance to capture his first FightWorld championship.

With these first two matchups announced, FightWorld MMA 45 is already shaping up to be one of the promotion’s most intriguing events of the year. A veteran’s comeback, a decorated striker looking to continue his rise, and an amateur title fight featuring two promising featherweights provide an exciting foundation for the August 15 event at the Revel Entertainment Center, with additional bouts expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
