BKFC Fight Night Recap: Bonner Captures Lightweight Gold, Hart Retains Title, and Ludlow Scores Nine-Second Knockout

The night delivered everything Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship fans could ask for—championship drama, spectacular knockouts, comeback victories, and several breakout performances.

Bonner Stops Trout to Win Tournament Gold

Bonner wasted no time establishing himself in the main event, taking control early against Austin Trout. An overhand right in the opening round sent Trout crashing to the canvas and immediately shifted the momentum.

The Englishman doubled down in the second round, charging forward aggressively before uncorking another devastating overhand right. Trout hit the deck for a second time, forcing the stoppage and crowning Bonner as the winner of the four-man title tournament after vacating his previous championship to enter the competition.

It was a statement performance that also earned Bonner the Knockout of the Night.

Britain Hart Battles Through Adversity to Retain Championship

Britain Hart successfully defended the BKFC Women’s Strawweight Championship with a hard-fought split decision victory over Sarah Shell.

The champion faced significant adversity after suffering a cut on the inside of her left eye along with swelling around the outside of it. Hart answered back with damage of her own, opening a deep cut between Shell’s eyes.

While Shell found success early, Hart’s championship experience proved decisive over the final two rounds. She consistently landed sharp, accurate punches that snapped Shell’s head back while skillfully avoiding many of the challenger’s attacks to secure another successful title defense.

Johnny Garbarino Continues to Impress

Johnny Garbarino remained unbeaten, improving to 5-0 with a masterful performance against Richman.

Garbarino’s defensive awareness, slick footwork, and constant head movement kept him one step ahead throughout the contest. His jab dictated the action, producing a second-round knockdown before opening a cut over Richman’s right eye.

Richman spent much of the fight searching for his trademark left hand, but Garbarino’s movement made him nearly impossible to hit cleanly. The victory showcased his high fight IQ, creativity, and defensive skill set, further cementing his status as a legitimate contender against the division’s elite.

Russell Rallies to Stay Perfect

Cody Russell improved to 3-0 in BKFC with an impressive comeback victory over Jake Bostwick, ending Bostwick’s five-fight unbeaten streak.

After being dropped by a counter left hook, Russell regrouped and changed the complexion of the fight by dragging the action into the clinch, eventually forcing a sudden-death overtime round.

In the extra session, Russell adjusted once again, fighting more effectively from the outside with lighter footwork and increased movement. The tactical shift paid off as he completed a memorable comeback victory.

Montanez Announces Himself with Explosive Debut

Zed Montanez made an unforgettable BKFC debut with a crushing first-round knockout of Matt Maestas.

A perfectly timed double left hook rocked Maestas, opened a cut beneath his right eye, and ended the fight in devastating fashion.

Turnbull Dominates in First Appearance

Matthew Turnbull made an immediate impact in his BKFC debut, overwhelming Brandon Honsvick from the opening bell.

Pressuring relentlessly, Turnbull forced Honsvick backward into the clinch, where powerful right uppercuts produced two knockdowns before a standing TKO brought the contest to an end in the opening round.

Ludlow Delivers Nine-Second Finish

Lex Ludlow produced one of the fastest knockouts of the evening.

Exploding out of the corner, Ludlow immediately backed Drew Nolan to the ropes before unleashing a barrage of left hooks and right uppercuts that ended the fight in just nine seconds.

Pagan Wins Historic One Round War

Anthony Pagan emerged victorious in the inaugural BKFC One Round War, knocking Zach Pannell down twice—including once with punches from the clinch—to secure the victory in the unique single-round format.

Sullivan Stops Late Replacement

Pat Sullivan capitalized on his opportunity against short-notice replacement Ruben Arroyo.

Sullivan opened a deep gash on the top of Arroyo’s head before earning a first-round TKO victory.

Willey Grinds Out Tough Decision

Nicholas Willey showcased a rugged, effective inside fighting style to earn a split-decision victory over Eric Westbury.

Despite being cut during the contest, Willey continued pressing forward and outworked his opponent in close exchanges to secure the win.

Griffin Dominates in Spectacular Debut

Griffin closed out the evening with one of the most dominant debut performances on the card against Billy Graves.

Griffin established control immediately with crisp combinations in the pocket, scoring two first-round knockdowns. The punishment continued in the second as Graves was dropped twice more.

By the third round, a sharp left hook followed by a straight right forced Graves to the canvas for the fifth time, prompting the stoppage and completing a spectacular debut performance.
