Fight day for “Fisticuff in Farmington”
After 39-years professional Boxing returns to Farmington New Mexico tonight.
School of Hard Knocks Boxing will be putting on a seven-fight card at the McGee Park. In the Main event New Mexico’s Joe Martinez faces Colorado’s Jeremy Ramos.
Martinez is no stranger to the spotlight having fought such names as Abraham Han, Josh Torres, Christian Cabral, & Jose luis sanchez. The opportunity to fight as close to home, Aztec NM, as he ever has was enough for the loving father of two to end his five year hiatus from the sport. Ramos is a 27-fight vet who’s been a pro since 2012. The Colorado native has a thud of his wins by knockout. The two pugilists share a common opponent in Arthur Crespin who Ramos beat in 2015 and Martinez overcame in 2019.
Heavyweights look to settle unfinished business in the co-main event as the fighting pride of Farmington Jonathan Abeyta again battles Alamosa Colorado’s Brandon Heredia. In the first meeting it looked like Abeyta was on his way to stopping Heredia, before Heredia came back and cut Abeyta earning the draw.
And all eyes will be on three unbeaten prospects looking to create a buzz Kirkland’s Elijah Martinez, El Paso’s Jorge Tovar, and Bloomfield’s Rolyn Nez.
