Whittaker vs RDR headlines July Fight Night
The UFC is returning to Abu Dhabi in July with Middleweight showdown.
July 26th the UFC is at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi for a Fight Night card.
In the main event former Middleweight champion and number five ranked contender Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker will take on former two division One champion, number thirteen ranked Reinier de Ridder.
Whittaker went 2-1 in 2024. The Australian had a strong start to the year defeating Paulo Costa and knocked out Ikram Aliskerov in the main event of the first UFC Saudi Arabia. His campaign did have an unfortunate conclusion as he suffered a jaw injury from a Khamzat Chimaev face crack he tapped to.
De Ridder is on a four-fight win streak including a 3-0 start to his UFC career. The Dutchman submitted Gerald Meerschaert in his octagon debut and followed it up by submitting fan favorite Kevin Holland. In the co—main event of UFC Des Moines he showed off his striking handing top prospect Bo Nickal his frost loss from well place knee to the body.
