Julia Budd injured, Charmaine Tweet steps in against Ediane Gomes at Invicta FC 6

Julia ‘The Jewel” Budd (5-2) vs. Ediane “India” Gomes (10-2) for the second straight Invicta FC event has been put together but will not take place. AT Invicta FC 5 the match-up was changed so that Gomes could face Ediane “India” Gomes, but Gomes later pulled out of the fight. Now a neck injury suffered by Juila Budd will force the cancellation of their Invicta FC 6 match-up. Gomes will now face Charmine Tweet (4-3) on July 13.
Ediane Gomes a member of American Top Team had won 4 fights in a row over Katrine Alendal (SUB), Leslie Smith (UD), Katalina Malungahu (SUB), and Hiroko Yamanaka (UD). Gomes has 7 of 8 stoppage wins by submission.
Since starting her career at 1-3 Charmine Tweet has defeated Puja Kadian, Sy Jewett, and Amanda Bell all by 1st round submission chokes. Tweet’s most recent win over Amanda bell took place just a month ago on June 1st.
Invicta Fc 6 takes place on July 13, at the Ameristar Casino Hotel and Casino in Kansas City Missouri; and is headlined by Marlos Coenen vs. Cristiane Justino for the inaugural IFC Featherweight title.
