Lawal vs. Noe & Martinez vs. Minakov Summer Series Finals at Bellator 97
Bellator MMA has made it official adding to an already stacked card topped with 2 title fights, Bellator 97 will also see the 2013 Summer Series Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight tournament finals. In the Light Heavyweight final “King Mo” Muhammed Lawal (10-2) faces Jacob “The Psycho” Noe ( 12-2), while in the Heavyweight finals Ryan Martinez (10-2) battles Vitaly Minakov (11-0).
Muhammed Lawal bounced back from a season 7 knock out loss to Emanuel Newton at Bellator 96 knocking out Seth Petruzelli to earn a spot in the tournament finals.
Jacob Noe also showed no lingering effects of his season 8 tournament loss stopping Renato Sobral by TKO in round 3.
Coming off a knock out win over vet Travis Wuiff, Ryan Martinez kept the momentum going at Bellator 96 making quick work of season 7 Heavyweight tournament finalist Rich Hale.
For the 2nd time under the Bellator banner Vitaly Minakov the 4 time Russian Combat Sambo champion, looked great, finishing Ron Sparks by 1st round TKO.
Bellator 97 takes place on July 31 at the Santa Anna Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and is headlined by Ben Askren Defending the Bellator Welterweight title against Andrey Koreshkov and Micheal Chandler defending the Bellator Lightweight title against David “Caveman” Rickles.
