Rib Injury Forces Douglas Lima Out of Bellator 97

The season 8 Welterweight final of Douglas “The Phenom” Lima (23-5) against Ben “Killa-B” Saunders (16-5) that was expected to take place at Bellator 97, for the 2nd time been postponed due to a Lima injury.

This time it’s a rib injury suffered in training, the first postponement was due to Lima breaking his hand in a semi final win over Bryan Baker at Bellator 90.

Douglas Lima is on a3fight wining streak that includes a quarterfinal win over Michail Tsarev (TKO) and the aforementioned semifinal win over Bryan Baker.

Ben Saunders has a 3 fight win streak of his own that includes a quarter final win over Koffi Adzitso (UD) and a semifinal 1st round knock out win over Raul Amaya.

Bellator 97 take place on July 31, at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
