Sefo vs. Huckaba, Newell to Make Promotional Debut at WSOF 4
World Series of Fighting president Rey Sefo announced at WSOF 3 the 2nd bout added to WSOF 4, which will be in the Heavyweight division as Rey Sefo (2-1) faces Dave “Bad Man” Huckaba (20-5).
Also Sefo announced that newly signed former XFC Lightweight champion “Notorious” Nick Newell (9-0) of American Top Team will make his WSOF debut against a yet to be named opponent. Newell last fought at XFC 21 defeating Eric Reynolds by by round submission capturing the XFC Lightweight title. The submission was the 6th of Newell’s career.
Rey Sefo started out his MMA career with wins over Min Soo Kim and Kevin Jordan but, has not competed since a February 2001 submission loss to Valentijn Overeem. In the kickboxing world Sefo holds a 56-21-1 record. Sefo was a 2000 K-1 World Grand Prix runner up.
Dave Huckaba has won 9 of 10 fights in including 3 in a row over Rob Jackson (TKO), Carl Seumanutafa (KO), and Carter Williams (SUB). Huckaba’s last loss came at Bellator 67 by unanimous decision to Damian Grabowski. Huckaba has 16 of 19 stoppage wins by KO/TKO.
WSOF 4 takes place on August 10 at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, California. The only other announced match-up thus far is Gesias Cavalcante (17-7-1) vs. Tyson Griffin (16-6).
