Samman injured Howard Meets Hall At UFC Fight Night 26
Uriah Hall (7-3) is hoping the 3rd time is the charm for opponent changes. Josh Samman (10-2) who replaces Nick Ring, has now been replaced due to injury by John “Doomsday” Howard (20-8).
Hall is coming of losing in the TUF 17 finals to Kelvin Gastelum, which ended a 3 fight winning streak. Hall has 6 of 7 wins by stoppage with 4 of them by KO/TKO.
Howard is on a 2 fight winning streak and is 6-1 in his last 7 fight, since a 3 fight losing streak found Howard cut from the UFC. In his last 2 bouts Howard has knocked out Jason Louck and Chris Woodall in a combined 2:30. “Doomsday” has 9 of 15 stoppages by KO/TKO. Howard last time in the UFC fought at Welterweight but for this short notice match-up will be a Middleweight.
UFC on Fox Sports 1 event have thankfully been re-named as Fight Nights and will pick up where the old Fight Night series of event left off. Making what was UFC on Fox Sports 1 1, UFC Fight Night 26, that will take place on August 17, at the TD Bank Garden Arena in Boston, Massachusetts; and is headlined by Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Chael Sonnen.
