Wiedman vs. Silva II New UFC 168 Main Event
UFC President Dana White has announced that the UFC Middleweight title rematch between “All-American” Chris Wiedman (10-0) and Anderson “The Spider” Silva will headline UFC 168 on December 28, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Veagas, Nevada.
UFC 168 will now feature two of the most highly anticipated rematches in MMA history as the previously announced headliner of Miesha “Cupcake” Tate (13-4) challenging “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey (7-0) for the UFC women’s Bantamweight championship.
Chris Wiedman defeated Anderson Silva for the UFC Middleweight title at UFC 162 1 week ago. The undefeated Weidman in scoring his 10th pro win, snapped the 17 fight winning streak Silva was on. In that span Silva set the UFC record for most title defenses with 10. “The Spider” is widely considered one of the best MMA fighters ever and pound for pound best right now.
Weidman is one of the most talented fighters in MMA under the age of 30 and looks to be a future superstar. A superstar and a leader for the next generation of MMA fighters. Having a skill set of Wrestling Jiu Jitsu and Boxing the “All- American” has shown to be a true mixed martial artist, capable of winning by decision, submission, or KO/TKO.
On July 6 at UFC 162 Anderson Silva disrespected title challenger Chris Wiedman by not taking the fight seriously while in action and fighting with his hands down. Weidman in the 2nd round would caught Silva with a left hook ending the long time champions reign. Wanting his belt back there should be a new fire driving Silva to his goal and taking the fight seriously.
UFC 168 will be one great night of fights with the UFC Middleweight and women’s Bantamweight titles both on the line.
