McMann Withdraws From UFC Fight Night 27 Bout Against Kaufman

Sarah Kaufman (16-2) still expects to make her UFC debut on August 28th at UFC Fight Night 27, but announced opponent Sara McMann (7-0) has reportedly withdrawn from the bout for undisclosed reasons.

After losing the Strikeforce Bantamweight title to Marloes Coenen, Sarah Kaufman would defeat Megumi Yabushita (TKO), Liz Carmouche (UD), and Alexis Davis (MD) to climb back to a title shot. In the her championship opportunity Kuafman would suffer defeat, by 1st round armbar to champion Ronda Rousey. Most recently Kaufman has bounced back at Invicta FC 5 to win by split decision over Leslie Smith.

Olympic Silver medalist Sara McMann is coming off a promotional debut TKO victory over Shelia Galf, at UFC159. Out of 4 win by stoppage that was McMann’s first by KO/TKO. Prior to joining the UFC McMann headlined Invicta FC 2 earning a unanimous decision win over Shayna Baszler.

The UFC is currently searching a for a replacement for McMann.

UFC Fight Night 27 takes place on August 28th, at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The main event will see the second meeting of Welterweights Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.
