Roop Meets Rivera at UFC 166
A Bantamweight match-up pitting Apex MMA’s George Roop (14-9-1) against California’s Francisco “Ciso” Rivera (9-2-0, 1nc) has been added to the UFC 166 Velasquez vs. Dos Santos III card.
After consecutive losses at Featherweight to Hatsu Hioki (SD)and Cub Swanson (TKO), George Roop moved down to Bantamweight and has since defeated Reuben Duran (UD) and Brian Bowles (TKO). Roop has fought as big as 155lbs and is now having his most success at 135 lbs.
After back to back loss to Erick and Reuben Duran found Franciso Rivera off the zuffa roster. “Ciso” won consecutive fights over Brad McDonald and Antonio Duarte to get back in the UFC. Rivera in his last 3 fight has 2 wins over Alex Soto (UD) and Edwin Figueroa (TKO), win a no contest against Roland Delorme; the no contest stems from Rivera testing positive for a banned substance in a post fight drug screen.
UFC 166 takes place on October 19, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
