Evans vs. Sonnen, UFC 167’s Co-main Event
A Light Heavyweight battle between Fox UFC analysis’s “Suga” Rashad Evans (18-3-1) and Chael Sonnen (28-13-1) will serve as the co-main event for UFC 167, which will be the UFC’s 20th anniversary show.
Rashad Evans former UFC Light Heavyweight champion at, UFC 161 defeated Dan Henderson by unanimous decision, to snap a two fight losing streak that saw Evans drop decisions to Jon Jones and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
Chael Sonnen comes into this fight off of the biggest win in his career having submitted former UFC Light Heavyweight champion and Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Marucio “Shogun” Rua, at the inaugural Fox Sports 1 event, UFC on Fight Night 26. The win also halted a losing streak that saw Sonnen suffer TKO losses to Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, both where title bouts.
UFC 167 takes place in November 16, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will see Johnny “Big Rig” Hendricks challenge Georges St. Pierre for the UFC Welterweight title.
