Gamburyan vs. Siver at UFC 168
The newest addition to the UFC’s last show of 2013 is a Featherweight contest, pitting former Lightweights, who are built like tanks Manny “The Anvil” Gamburyan (13-7) against Denis Siver (21-9).
Gamburyan a finalist of the 5th season of TUF can currently be seen on season 19 of TUF serving as a coach for Team Ronda Rousey. At UFC Fight Night 26 “The Anvil” is a Judo stylist, who has won consecutive fights by unanimous decision over Michihiro Omigawa and Cole Miller, bouncing back from a 3 fight losing streak.
After a 4 fight winning streak was ended by a submission loss to Donald Cerrone, German kickboxer Dennis Siver decided to move down to Featherweight. Siver’s first 2 bouts at 145 lbs. saw Siver claim unanimous decision wins over Diego Nunes and Nam Phan. Siver will now be looking to get back in the win column after a 3rd round TKO loss to Top ten ranked Cub Swanson at UFC 162.
UFC 168 takes place on December 28, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada; and is headlined by Anderson Silva Challenging Chris Weidman for the UFC Middleweight title.
