Forte Welcomes Trevino to Octagon at UFC 171
After competing most of his career at Middleweight Renne Forte (8-3) will know what long time Welterweight Frank Trevino (11-0) is going through cutting weight for the first time as the two will meet at Lightweight at UFC 171.
Forte competed on the first season of TUF Brazil at Middleweight, then at UFC 153 was submitted by Sergio Moraes in a Welterweight contest, before moving to Lightweight and getting a decision win over Terry Etim. Forte is now in search of regaining momentum after a UFC 165 knockout loss to John Makdessi.
Trevino born in Mexico has 8 stoppage wins, with the subs and knockouts split in half; and 6 wins in the 1st round. Coming off a win in the Texas based Legacy FC promotion over Lester Batres and also training in Texas, is sure to be a crowd favorite in his debut.
UFC 171 takes place on March 15, at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas; headlined by “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler battling Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks for the vacant UFC Welterweight title.
