Titan FC 27 Announces Ricci-Gurgel & Riddle-Kuiper, Plus New Broadcasting Partner
A new year, a new outlook, and new chance. That will be a theme of Titan FC 27 on February 27, at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas. The promotion has announced that the main event will see UFC vet and TUF 16 finalist Mike Ricci (8-4) meeting Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, UFC and Strikeforce vet Jorge Gurgel (14-9).
In the Welterweight co-main event ,UFC vets Matthew “Deep Waters” Riddell (7-3-0-2 NC) and Michael “Judo” Kuiper (12-3) collide.
The biggest new of all tho could be where you will be able to watch this fight as Titan FC will not be on Axs TV but will be broadcast-ed on CBS Sports Net.
Ricci made it to the finals of TUF 16, losing by unanimous decision to Colton Smith. Then bounced back to better Colin Fletcher. Before being released from the UFC following a split decision loss to Myles Jury.
Gurgel is an always entertaining fighter who despite his BJJ Black Belt likes to deliver a stand-up war for the fans. Gurgel is 1-4 in his last 5 fights. Since a submitting Bill Vaughan, Gurgel has dropped consecutive decisions to Joe Duarte and Adriano Martins.
Riddle has not fought in a year since being released from the UFC after testing positive for Marijuana twice. Riddle in the last year has signed a contract with Legacy FC that was bought out by Bellator. For a variety of reason Riddle never fought for either promotion but was scheduled at least 3 times.
Kuiper started his career 11-0, but in 4 UFC bouts the Dutchman went 1-3 losing to Rafael Natal (UD), Tom Lawlor (SUB), and Brad Scott; with his lone victory coming via TKO over Hared Hamman.
Also on the card “The Hard Hitting Hillbilly” Kevin Croom takes on Bryan Goldsby.
