King of the Cage Heading to Las Cruces
King of the Cage has announced that they will be back in the 505 on April 19th, this time in Las Cruces New Mexico; presenting an exciting MMA event with pro and amateur action. Official for the event getting his wish Cristobal “El Mosquito” Chavez (4-0) from El Paso’s 10th Planet BJJ challenges Robert Herrera (7-1) of the 505 Fight Factory for the KOTC world 135 lbs. amateur title.
At king of the Cage Rumble both fighters came away with their most recent victories as Herrera submitted Mark McGlasson in the 2nd round of their bout with a rear naked choke, while Chavez took down and pounded out Thomas Mills in under a minute setting up this match-up that Chavez was calling for to match maker Jon Judy inside the cage following the win.
Overall Herrera has won 4 fights in a row with 3 of the 4 ending by rear naked choke submission. Chavez is undefeated with all of his wins inside the distance.
