Weidman Injuries Moves Machida Match-up from UFC 173 to 175

The UFC has announced that Middleweight champion Chris “All-American” Weidman has sustained a knee injury that has forced, his title defense against Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida to be moved back.

Instead of headlining UFC 173 on May 24 th two will tango at UFC 175 on July 5th, Still in Las Vegas, Nevada; but moving from the MGM Grand Garden Arena to the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

Undefeated New Yorker, Weidman has won his last 3 fights by (T)KO stopping Mark Munoz and Anderson Silva twice; including most recently defending the title successfully against Silva after a checked leg kick snapped Silva’s leg.

After a decision loss to Phil Davis, Machida a former Light Heavyweight champion dropped to Middleweight and has since knocked out Mark Munoz with a head kick and decision Gegard Mousasi in a technical striking battle.
