Press Release- It is with much regret and disappointment that Orthrus Promotions and Triple A MMA has to announce that it’s Saturday May 24th event at the Midland Center in Midland, TX has been postponed.

Due to the physical nature of MMA, we often have some fighters who suffer injury in the lead up to the events.  For this particular event we have unfortunately had a significantly higher number of fighters withdraw due to injuries.

Often, scheduled fights can be recovered with suitable substitute fighters.  For our Midland event, however, this has proved to not be possible. The promotion was notified late Wednesday that Richard Villa, who was half of the Main Event, was rushed to the emergency room with a health concern. Orthrus Promotions and Texas Department of License and Regulation worked hand in hand to try and find a solution to make the event a success, and with less than 48 hours before weigh-ins, the Orthrus Promotions management team made the decision to postpone the event with the TDLR blessing. The Orthrus Staff has been tirelessly working to overcome this situation; however, it had become clear that in this instance, we would be unable to make arrangements to compensate for the setback.

“We feel that, foremost, it is important to Triple A MMA to have our fighters qualified, talented, evenly matched, and most importantly healthy.  Equally important is that the many fans that attend our events know that they have witnessed a great show,” JR Rodriguez COO of Orthrus Promotions explained. “We have and always will be committed to bringing the best mixed martial arts combatants into the cage for every event.”
