UFC Blitz 8, August 8th -17th
Match-ups made, a title bout post ponded by injury, and Mighty Mouse get spotlight back all happened this past week.
August 8- UFC Fight Night 53 has 2 new additions with Krzysztof Jotko (14-1) facing Tor Troeng (16-6-1) at Middleweight and Cathal Pendred (14-2-1) meeting Gasan Umalatov (15-3-1) at Welterweight.
August 8- Alexander Yakovlev (21-5-1) instead of Amir Sadollah (6-4) will take on Nico Musoke (12-3) at UFC Fight night 53 in Stockholm, on October 4th. Sadollah has been moved to UFC Fight Night 52 replacing an injured Kyle Noke against Yoshihiro Akiyama (13-5) on September 20th.
August 8- Serving as replacement for an injured Urijah Faber (31-7) will be the man he most recently defeated Alex Caceres (10-6). Caceres at UFC Fight Night 52, will now be welcoming Masenori Kanehara (23-111-5) to the octagon.
August 9- Chan Sung Jung “The Korean Zombie” (13-4) will meet Akira Corassani (12-4) in the UFC Fight Night 53 co-main event. October 4th in Sotckholm, Sweden.
August 11- Ben Saunders (16-6-2) will officially make his octagon return at UFC Fight Night 49 on August 23 in Tulsa Oklahoma, against Chris Heatherly (8-1) a RFA vet on a 3 fight win streak.
August 11- China’s Jingliang Li (9-2) vs. Canada’s Nordine Taleb (9-2) has been added to UFC Fight Night 54 on October 4th, in Nova Scotia, Canada
August 12- Newly signed Bantamweights former Bellator Featherweight champion Joe Soto (15-2) and former MFC Bantamweight champion Anthony Birchak (11-1) under 3 weeks notice will meet at August 30th’s UFC 177 in Sacramento, California.
August 12- Jon Jones (20-1) has suffered a leg injury, said to be an ankle injury will postpone “Bones” title defense against Daniel Cormier (15-0). The bout is being mover from UFC 178 on September 27th, 2014 to January 3rd, 2015.
August 13- UFC 177 on August 30th,was going to be a 2 title bout event with the Bantamweight title in the main event, which is still happening, but the Flyweight title bout co-main event between Demetrious Johnson (20-2-1) and Chris Cariaso (17-5) has been moved to headline UFC 178 on September 27th.
August 13- The new co-main event for UFC 177 is a Lightweight bout between Team Alpha Males Danny “Last Call” Castillo (17-6) and TUF 13 winner Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson (15-3).
August 14- Joby Sanchez (6-0) who recently had been announced as half of the main vent for RFA 18 has puled out of that bout, after being signed to the UFC to server as a replace for Tim Elliott (10-5), meeting Wilson Reis (17-5) at UFC Fight Night 49.
August 14- UFC Fight Night 54 on October 4, at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada has added a pick pack of bouts. At Middleweight TUF Nations winner Elias Theodorou (9-0) vs. Bruno Santos (14-1), at Lightweight Chad Laprise (8-0) TUF Nations Welterweight winner vs. Yosdenis Cedeno (10-3), at Bantamweight Mitch Gagnon (11-2) vs. Aljamin Sterling (10-0), at Welterweight Matt Dwyer (7-1) vs. Albert Tumenov (8-0), and at Lightweight Jake Lindsay (9-1) vs. Aubin-Mercier (4-1), and Jason Saggo (10-1) vs. Paul Felder (8-0).
