Pitbull vs. Puma WBC Title Bout Headlines Battle at 5 Points
On Nov. 15, Chavez Promotions, Crespin Promotions, and Orthrus Promotions team up to present “Battle at 5 Points”, at the Pat McKernan Event Center. Taking center stage is the long awaited bout between Josh “Pitbull” Torres (13-3-2, 6 KO’s) and Cristian “El Puma” Cabral (6-1-1, 3 KO’s) with the vacant WBC USNBC Welterweight title up for grabs.
For Torres a family man and Barber during the day, will be taking the ring for his 3rd WBC title bout. In his first two title bouts Torres lost a 10-round decision to Dusty Hernandez-Harrison and recently fought Jose Mareufo to a split draw. The loss to “DHH” ended a 5 fight winning streak. “Pitbull” rebound from the loss to KO Francisco Lira at Dia De Johnny Tapia.
Cabral a member of Warriors Boxing, went undefeated in his first 6 pro bouts, including a draw with vet Michael “Coca” Gallegos and a decision win over MMA vet Donald Sanchez. “El Puma” recently bounced back from his first pro loss, a 5th round TKO to Joe Gomez, with a 6-round unanimous decision win over Shawn Gallegos at Holmes Boxing/ Orthrus Promotions Fright Night.
The co-main event will see Las Vegas, New Mexico’s Arturo “El Torro” Crespin (12-3-1, 4 KO’s) who will look to extend his winning streak to 3 when he takes on the undefeated Maurice Louishome (7-0-1, 4 KO’s) of Colorado Spring. Crespin has won consecutive decisions over Julio Cesar Lanzas and Augustine Renteria, while Louishome is coming off a 5-round unanimous decision win over Ayodeji Fadeyi.
Alex Holguin (2-1, 1 KO) will also be on the card, but is still awaiting an opponent. Holguin who is coming off a 2nd round KO of Marcel Cloud has both his pro wins at Chavez Promotions events.
