King of the Cage: Duke City, Results

The cage is up, the doors are open and we are live inside the Crowne Plaza for King of the Cage: Duke City,  an 11 bout amateur and pro mix martial arts card. 

Bout 1: Ruby Santos vs. Allison Price – 130 lbs.

R1- Santos lands with a pair of overhand rights. Price pressures Santos to the cage Price lands sorts straight punches. Santos clinches, Price breaks away lands a few more punches. Santos scores 3 take downs in the round but dose little work from the top.

R2- Santos eat a kick and  gets hammer fist-ed to the back of the head while shooting for a take-down. Santos going hard for a single leg. Price lands a few punches defends with a wizard. Santos right eye is almost closed from eating short shots. They clinch Price lands with a shot knee, Santos answers back with a hook to the body before the bell.

R3- Price backs Santos to cage and hits her with 5 strikes. Santos circles shoots in and the take-down is stuffed. Santos on the reentry blast the double leg, but falls into a triangle choke.

Bout 2: Roman Aranda vs. Jacob Tosh – 135 lbs.

R1- Aranda ducks under a hook score a take-down to side control. Tosh fight to regain guard . Tosh tries to stand Aranda jumps on the guillotine and gets the tap.

Bout 3: Travis Arellano vs. Dave Nater -180 lbs.

R1- Arellano shoots right in score a double leg take-down moves to side control. Nater cage walks, Arellano shoots back in. Nater gets around and takes the back. Nater peppers with light punches. Naterbis trying to sneak his left arm under for a choke while Arellano has two hands in Nater’s right wrist,

R2- Nater stalking Arellano,  both fighters are exchanging single punches. Nater has ate a pair of leg kicks an didn’t like it. Arellano clinches and moves to the head and arm choke, scoring a take-down with the choke locked in. Nater breaks the lock an is countering with a kimura as the bell rings.

R3- Nater eats 3 overhand rights and a leg kick, then Nater shoots in scores a take-down to half guard. Arellano dives under, looking for the knee bar and turns it into a sweep and move to side control. Arellano jackhammers down a few punches and then opens up with punches.

Result- Travis Arellano def. Dave Nater by ( 29-28, 29-28, 29-28 ) unanimous decision

 

Bout 4: David Carter vs. Bronson Mitchell – 155 lbs.

R1- Carter runs in, Mitchell ducks under lifts and slams. Mitchell slides right to mount. Carter unbalance s Mitchell pushes him off. Mitchell stays tight mounts and then armbar for the tap.

Result- Bronson Mitchell def, David Carter by submission ( armbar) 1:32, R1

 

Bout 5: Carlo Pacheco vs. Jesse Sandoval- 145 lbs.

R1- They rush to center of the cage and wildly exchange Sandoval lands a hard right, Thai clinches and lands a big knee knocking and following Pacheco to the ground. Pacheco immediately locks in a triangle choke. Sandoval while in the choke is landing punches and knees as the round ends.

R2- Pacheco lands 3 strikes, Sandoval answers right back. Sandoval gets to the clinch blasts away with punches and knees. Pacheco drops and Sandoval stands over Pacheco landing till the ref jumps in.

Bout 6: Roberto Nater vs. James Wilkerson – 120 lbs.

R1- Wilkerson runs out his corner with a flying front kick and Nater catches the leg puts Wilkerson on his back. Nater dropping bombs from half guard slides to mount still punching.  Wilkerson gives his back and Nater sinks in the choke.

Bout 7: Rene Rangle vs. Carlos Montano- 140 lbs

R1- left uppercut followed by a front kick lands for Montano. Rangle dives in from a take-down,  Montano stuffs the shot, takes the back and Rangle scrambles to get on top. Montano wall walks escapes, Rangle dives for the take-down and montano takes the back ending the round on top.

R2- they meet in the middle both swinging. Montano shots in, its stuffed and he’s forced to his back. Montano works back to his knees shoots in scores the take-down ban Rangle gives his back. They roll Montano flattens Rangle and sinks in the RNC.

Bout 8: Austin Wourms vs. Anthony Rozema – 185 lbs.

R1- Right hook from Rozema starts us of. Rozema pressures. Wourms to the cage throws a bunch on punches backs off. Rozema slips on a head kick, then pressures Wourms to the cage, Rozema then grabs the Thai clinch blast knees dropping Wourms. Rozema then finishes the fight with ground and pound.

Bout 9: Denton Comyford vs, George Clynes – 170 lbs.

R1- Clynes hits Comyford with a straight right then left backing Comyford to the cage and with a few follow up hooks against the cage Comyford goes down for the knock out.

Result- George Clynes def. Denton Comyford by KO ( punches ) 0:24, R1

 

Bout 10: Charlie. Williams vs. Joseph Veloz -135 lbs.

R1- Veloz touches first with a light right leg kick. Veloz clinches and drags Williams to the ground. Williams dives under the half guard sweeps his way to the top position. Williams in guard works his ground and pound. Veloz throws his legs up. Williams knocks throws the legs to the side to pass, Veloz gives up his back. Williams forces Veloz to his back and drops elbows and punches till the ref jumps in.

Bout 11: Harvey Park vs. John Rozema – 155 lbs.

R1- Rozema lands with two right hands. Park cliches, Rozema stuffs the 1st take-down, but is put on his back on the 2nd attempt. Rozema quickly back to his feet. Park is right back in on a take-down.  Park clinches and with a head and arm choke trips Rozema.  Rozema escapes a rear naked,  an armbar before geting stuck in an omplata. Rozema escapes the omplatabandbfalls into another rear naked choke and is forced to tap.
