RFA 27 Headlined by Joe Murphy vs. Jesse Brock
Resurrection Fighting Alliance has announced that July 3rd they will make there debut in Idaho with RFA 27 taking place at the Century Link Arena in Boise. The main event will see Joe Murphy (8-2) against Jesse Brock (20-8).
Murphy is 2-1 in his last 3. After a split decision win over Victor Henry, Murphy knocked out Bruno Frazatto at RFA 21. Now Murphy will be looking to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Terrion Ware from RFA 23 in what is a fight of the year candidate.
Brock has fought all over the world and is newly signed to the promotion. Brock is 6-1 in his last 7 with a current 4 fight win streak, having a split decision win over Kevin Croom, a submission of Omar Avelar, a knock out of Eben Kaneshiro; and just 7 days ago defeated Bendy Casmir, a WEC vet, by unanimous decision.
The co-main event will be a Flyweight bout pitting Czar “The Gunfighter” Sklavos (11-4) vs. Nicholas Burgos (9-3). Sklavos a Idaho native has won 4 of his 5, including submitting Nick Mamalis, Mamoru Yamaguchi, and Benny Vinson. Sklavos has 9 of his 11 career win via submission. Utah’s Burgos has won 6 fights in a row including, most recently defeating former RFA Flyweight champion Matt Manzanares by unanimous decision.
Also on the card will be a Heavyweight clash as The Pit Elevated”s Jan Jorgensen (7-1) faces Dale T Sopi (6-1) of Power MMA. Jorgensen has 6 of 7 wins by stoppage with 4 wins in the 1st round. Sopi has all 4 of his stoppage wins by 1st round knock out. Bout men will be looking to rebound from RFA debut losses. Jorgensen was knocked out by Josh Copeland at RFA 16, while Sopi lost a unanimous decision to Chase Gormley at RFA 21.
