Conor McGregor Retires & Gets Pulled From UFC 200

A day that was going by quietly, quickly changed once UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor sent out a cryptic tweet.

McGrgeor tweeted “I have decide to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya’s later.” What did this mean. Why would the man on top of the MMA world, walk away out of the blue on a Tuesday afternoon.

McGregor’s coach at SBG, today even tweeted out “Well was fun while it lasted”. Many have speculated that McGreor’s tweet could have been a play to leverage the UFC into a rumored 10 million dollar pay out or the result of being cage side for the tragic incident that saw Joao Carvalho, pass away after a recent MMA fight in Dublin. Was McGregor just board from not being in the headlines for a week. Was the rumor of a failed drug test true.

UFC president Dana White, later appeared on ESPN Sports Center too announce that due to being unwilling to depart from Iceland, where he was holding his training camp, to come to Las Vegas for UFC 200 promotional obligations, Conor McGregor has been pulled from UFC 200.

White also added that Nate Diaz is expected to remain part of the July 9th card. Diaz is expected to be in Las Vegas, by now to meet with UFC officials to talk about a new opponent. The mention of another fight being added card also happened.
