Showtime faces Do Bronx in Featherweight debut
The UFC August 27th event in Vancouver Canada will see the Featherweight debut of former UFC & WEC Lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis (18-5) against top ten ranked UFC contender Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveria (21-5).
Pettis who is now splitting his time between the JacksonWink Academy & his long time home Roufusport in Milwaukee. After taking the UFC Lightweight title from Benson Henderson, “Showtime” defended it against Gilbert Melendez, but has since lost 3 straight decisions to Rafael dos Anjos, Eddie Alvarez, and Edson Barboza,
Oliveria comes from Sao Paulo, Brazil, who now resides in Houston, Texas. “Do Bronx” is 7-3 at 145 lbs. and has won 5 of his last 6 including submission win over Andy Ogle, Hatsu Hioki, Nik Lentz, and Myles Jury. In his career Oliveira has 19 stoppage wins and 13 have come by submission.
