UFC Fight Night 96 Quick Results
The Octagon has been set up inside the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, for UFC Fight Night 96; headlined by a battle between Bantamweight sluggers John “The Magician” Dodson & John “Hands of Stone” Lineker.
In a sub plot to the event, at yesterdays weigh-in’s three fighters missed there mark. Main event-er John Liner was .5 lbs. over, co-main event-er Alex Oliveira was 5.5 lbs. over, and Hacran Dias was 2.5 lbs. over.
As far as the main event goes John Lineker is a powerful striker with 13 of 17 finishes by knockout and is on a 5 fight win streak. Lineker missing weight for this fight, is a huge deal as he was forced to move from Flyweight (125 lbs.) to Bantamweight (135 lbs.) because of the same issue. Dodson on the other hand has won 4 of his last 5 and is coming off a 0:47 Bantamweight return, 1st rd TKO of Manny Gamburyan, from UFC on Fox 19, back in April. Dodson is returning to Bantamweight after two failed attempts to dethrone Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.
