LFA 10 Recap & Results
LFA 10 takes place at the Massari Arena, in Pueblo, Colorado, with the main card televised on AXS TV. The main event features a middleweight clash between Colorado’s own undefeated Ian Heinisch and hard hitting Brazilian Lucas Rota.
Recap: The night first amateur Bout was a woman’s Atomweight bout withAlyssa Garcia vs. Tabitha Trevino they quick fought into the clinch Garcia executed a judo throw mounted and then armbared Trevino less then a minute into the first rd. The 2nd fight at Bantamweight saw Joshua Morales against Robert Trujillo. Both men came out winging power shots. Trujillo stunned Morales with a right hand back away reset then took the battle to the ground. Trujillo took the back and his 2nd attempt at the rear naked choke was successful. Fight 3 is at Welterweight with Matt Addington Jack Mondragon. Mondragon loads up on a right hand, Addington duck under scored a double leg takedown. Mondragon gave his back and Addington pounded to finish. Fight number 4 kicks off the pro side of the card with Featherweights Jordan Titoni & Joel Whitney. This was a bloody war with both fighters landing a effective right hand. Titoni continually land spinning back fists. Whitney had a early jab working. Tide going to the 3rd Titoni turned u volume and a uppercut gave the opening for the takedown. Whitney tried a get up gave his back an eventually tapped to the rear naked choke. The final prelim is a Middleweight matchup with Bevin Lewis vs Sonny Yohn. Lewis worked off his jab followed it up with a straight right and continually defended takedowns and scoring with heavy knees to the body while in the clinch, en route to a unanimous decision victory. The main card got started with Welterweights Cody Yohn & Mike Jones. Yohn looked for his take down often but got stuffed on the majority. The two exchanged solid leg kicks back & forth. In the thrif being forced to throw Yohn landed a few rights, enough to earn the solid decision win. Fight 7 at Bantamweight with Adam Martinez vs Cuban Olympic wrestler Maikel Perez. In rd 1 Martinez scores two knock downs the 2nd was the rarely seen double knock down as both landed rights. Perez continually shot into the guillotine and it cost him in the 2nd, giving Martinez a huge upset win. Fight 8 at Featherweight the Andrew battle, Andrew Tenneson vs. Andrew Yates. Yates shot in for a takedown Tenneson defend with a guillotine, choking Yates to sleep. Fight 9 at a Lightweight has Dominic Montoya vs. Slobodan Maksimovic. The fight was mainly contested in the clinch. Montoya hunted but couldn’t complete takes downs. Maksimovic did very well with striking in all position An working knees to the body. Montoya had a huge 3rd getting the fight to the ground and almost finishing the fight with ground an pound. After 3 Rds Maksimovic takes the decision winning the first two Rds. Fight 10 at Bantamweight pitted Jerome Rivera against Zac Riley. Riley had Rivera’s back the majority of round 1 couldn’t find the finish and in the 2nd & 3rd took Riley down won the scrambles and inflicted major punishment with his punches and elbows. In the end Rivera earned a unanimous decision. Then it was co-main event time with a Flyweight Bout between Brandon Royal & Nick Urso. For 3 round Urso took down out scarmbled an grinder away on Royval. Urso’s best offense came in the 3rd when he busted Royval open with a pair of elbows. With some fun Colorado Urso takes a split decision win, as one judge really appreciated the elbows off his back and his attempts at rubber guard. Thebnights main event is at Middleweight with Ian Heinisch clashing with Lucas Rota. Heinisch shot right in took down Rota slide to mount, moved to side control, headlock, then forced the arm between his legs for the inverted kimura/shoulder lock/ scarf hold, first round submission victory.
