Cyborg-Anderson Added to UFC 214

The UFC’s Woman’s Featherweight division will move forward. The UFC has announced that now vacant UFC women’s Featherweight title will be up for grabs as Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino (17-1-0, 1 nc) squares off with Megan Anderson (9-2) at UFC 214.

The UFC stripped inaugural wonmen’s Featherweight  champion Germaine De Randamie, officially this morning, the promotion siting an unwillingness to face number one Contender Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. De Randamie and her management team said she was unwilling to face “Cyborg” because of her previous suspension for PED’s.

Justino is a former Strikeforce & Invicta FC champion. Justino hasn’t tasted defeat in MMA since her pro debut, having won 17 of 18, 1 no contest, since. Currently “Cyborg” is on a 7 fight win streak, all wins have come by TKO/KO and overall she has 15 TKO/KO for her career. The final Strikeforce Woman’s Featherweight champion and inaugural Invicta FC Featherweight champion has never lost her titles, seeing Strikeforce close down and vacating the Invicta belt after fighting consecutively for the UFC. The fights inside the octagon have been TKO wins over Leslie Smith & Lina Lansberg. A feared fighter, the Brazilian consistently finds herself in controversy failing a post fight screening in December of 2011, then recently having a USADA violation cleared up by a retroactive exemption, and at the UFC fighters retreat getting a citation for battery after punching UFC Strawweight Angela Magana. The Muay Thia style striker with a BJJ black belt currently trains in California.

Anderson a Australian, now residing in Kansas City. Missouri. The 27 year ole is currently on a 4 fight win streak, all by TKO/KO. In January Anderson stopped Charmaine Tweet in the 2nd round with strikes, earning the interim Invicta FC Featherweight title. After “Cyborg” vacated the title, the interim was lifted from Anderson’s title. At Invicta FC 22, which is scheduled for July 15, Anderson was expected to make her first championship defense against Helena Kolesnyk. The lengthy striker currently trains under James Krause at Glory MMA & Fitness.

UFC 214 is July 29th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
