Edgar still on UFC 222, Cyborg in New Main Event

Look up in the sky is it a bird, is it a plane, it’s Cyborg to keep UFC 222 as a pay per view.

With Max Holloway sidelined by a leg injury, the new UFC 222 Main Event will see Cris “Cyborg” Justino defending the UFC Women’s Featherweight title against former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion and promotional new comer “Foxy” Yana Kunitskaya. Back in December at UFC 219, Justino successfully defended the title by unanimous decision over Holly Holm. Kunitskaya last fought at Invicta FC 25, winning their bantamweight title by unanimous woven Raquel Pa’aluhi.

Frankie Edgar who was to challenge Max Holloway for the UFC Featherweight title, will remain on the card, now in the co-main event slot, in a title eliminator against Brian “T-City” Ortega. Edgar was last in action at UFC 211 when he scored a TKO, Doctor stoppage win over Yair Rodriguez. We last saw Ortega in the octagon, when he submitted Cub Swanson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 123.

UFC 222 is March 3rd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
