Ferguson Forced out of UFC 223
Dana White has announced 4 days away from UFC 223, that Tony Ferguson has suffered a knee injury, but the Lightweight Title is still in the line this weekend in Brooklyn, New York.
UFC 223 is set Saturday, April 7, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The new Lightweight Title bout main event will now see undefeated Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov (24-0) squaring off with Featherweight Champion Max “Blessed” Holloway (19-3). Nurmagomedov was last in action at UFC 219 taking a unanimous decision from Edson Barboza. Holloway who’s on a 12 fight win streak, moves up a weighclass on just days notice. It must be noted that Holloway had to withdraw from last months scheduled title defense at UFC 222 with a leg injury.
