PFL announces waive of signings
The Professional Fighters League has promised a big roster turnover and they’ve announced 10 new signings.
At lightweight they’ve added a quarte of UFC vets Oliver “The Canadian Ganster” Aubin-Mercier (11-5), Johnny “Hollywood” Case (27-7-1), “Cassius” Clay Collard (17-8), & Marcin Held (26-7). Aubin-Mercier has eight of his nine stoppage wins by knockout. Case has won five out seven fights since parting ways with the UFC. Collard has won three of his last four fights in the cage and since his last MMA bout in March of 2019 has gone 6-2-3 as a pro boxer. Held hasn’t fought since June of 2019 but is on a four-fight win streak.
The women’s lightweight division has gained Belgium’s Cindy “Battlecat” Dandois (16-5), who’s on a four-fight win streak & Laura Sanchez (1-0) who after a four-year amateur run made a successful pro debut in January defeating Miranda Barber by unanimous decision.
The heavyweight division has gained UFC vet Justin “Big Pretty” Willis (8-2) who has half his win by knockout & Titan FC vet Mohammed “The Motor” Usman (6-1) who has an over 80% finishing rate.
The light-heavyweight division has a single addition, Bellator vet Jordan Young (11-1) who has nine wins by submission. The featherweight division has gained Brave FC champion, Bellator vet Bubba Jenkins (14-4) who’s on a three-fight win streak.
The PFL has also recently announced that all six of the 2019 winners will be returning for the 2020 season. The season will begin May 21st, with the playoff in October, & the finals on new years eve.
In the PFL you have six-weight classes. Each weight class will have 12 competitors. The competitors compete twice during the regular season accumulating points. The eight competitors with the most points from each weight class will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs include fighting twice in one night to advance to the one million dollar five-round championship final.
